Ergo, if dad wanted to pursue charges against you, he likely could have you charged with something OTHER than a sex crime. And, at the very least, I would seek to obtain a restraining order against you.
Most every state has some kind of laws that make it a crime to interfere with their children.
The young man is understandably concerned and wants to obey the law. The guy is an adult - - and I have to wonder about a "man" (an adult) who has "interests" in a child. But you see, I was reading alot of these peoples responses.

I'm older than her by a few years, making her under the age of consent (i believe). Her dad doesn't want her seeing me til she's 18, but we still end up hanging out. We'll kiss and be affectionate, but nothing beyond that. While I know a lot of people think that means sexual consent, the more I read, the more it can mean just the ability to make decisions on your own, including those of sexual nature.
